Struck under the authority of Sulla (Restored Issue), dictator of Rome between 82 and 80 BC, who chose to use the reverse type of the denarii of Caius Servilius Vatia (Crawford 264/1), monetary Triumvir in 127 BC. A strike probably linked to his friendship with one of the triumvir's descendants, Publius Servilius Vatia Isauricus.
