Head of a roaring lion to right., Quadripartite incuse square., A truly remarkable coin! Struck in the early days of the invention of coinage in the first part of the 6th century, this small denomination nevertheless represented great value! The dies on which it was struck were already worn, with die breaks on the incuse square, two parts of which appear to have merged. With a flan based on a Phocaean standard, these small units are very rare and highly valued because they represent the beginnings of the history of coinages with its distinctive lion's head!

Tête de lion rugissant à droite., Carré incus quadripartite., Une monnaie tout à fait remarquable ! Frappée dans les premiers temps de l'invention de la monnaie dans la première partie du 6ème siècle, cette petite dénomination représentait pourtant une grande valeur ! On remarque que les coins qui l'ont frappés étaient déjà usés, avec des cassures de coin au niveau du carré incus dont deux parties semblent fusionner. Avec un flan basé sur un étalon phocéen, ces petites unités sont très rare et très recherchées car elles représentent les débuts de l'histoire de la monnaie avec la très reconnaissable tête de lion !
