This coin looks like unidentified coins of the "Civitas Biturigum", in the region of Bourges, which were found in the Saint-Pierre-les-Etieux hoard. A very rare coin, as there are very few animal representations on Merovingian coins in general, and we have here a very well engraved horse for a coin as small as a Merovingian denarius.

Exemplaire proche des deniers non identifiés de la "Civitas Biturigum", dans la région de Bourges qui ont été retrouvés dans le trésor de Saint-Pierre-les-Etieux. Monnaie très rare puisqu'on ne retrouve que très peu de représentation animales sur les monnaies mérovingiennes en général, et nous avons ici un cheval très bien gravé pour une monnaie aussi petite qu'un denier mérovingien.
