Bust of Arcadius, pearl-diademed, draped, cuirassed, right, Arcadius, draped, cuirassed, standing right, holding standard in right hand and Victory on globe in left hand; spurning seated bound captive with left foot, A truly remarkable example of a solidus in the name of Arcadius, Roman emperor on the Eastern part, issued by his brother Honorius, Roman emperor on the Western part. In a very good state of preservation, this solidus was struck on a wide flan, with a beautiful allegory of Arcadius defeating his enemies on the reverse. A discreet inverted Christian cross in the left field of the reverse is a sign of ownership, probably engraved by the owner of this solidus in ancient times, who did not wish to have it stolen by affixing a recognisable mark to it. Buste d'Arcadius, perlé-diadémé, drapé, cuirassé, à droite, Arcadius, drapé, cuirassé, debout à droite, tenant l'étendard de la main droite et la Victoire sur le globe de la main gauche ; renversant du pied gauche un captif assis et ligoté, Un exemplaire tout à fait remarquable d'un solidus au nom d'Arcadius, empereur romain sur la partie orientale, frappé soit par son père, Théodose Ier, soit par son frère Honorius, empereur romain dans la partie occidentale. Dans un très bel état de conservation, celui-ci a été frappé sur un beau flan large, avec une très belle allégorie d'Arcadius triomphant de ses ennemis au revers. On remarquera une discrète croix chrétienne renversée dans le champ gauche du revers, signe de propriété probablement gravé par celui qui possédait ce solidus à la période antique, et ne souhaitait pas se le voir voler, en y apposant une marque reconnaissable.
