Head of Sibyl, right, wearing ivy-wreath., Tripod on which stands amphora; on either side of amphora, star. All within torque., L. Manlius Torquatus. Very rare and of exceptional condition for the type despite a scratch before the portrait. A portrait of exquisite style struck on a flan of good silver and very well centred. The representations on the obverse and reverse show that L. Manlius Torquatus belonged to the college of Quindecimviri sacris faciundis. In addition, the torque on the reverse recalls his cognomen "Torquatus", clearly linked to the object. As the dating of the issue is disputed between 65 and 61 BC, we prefer Crawford's dating. Tête de sibylle, à droite, portant une couronne de vigne., Trépied sur lequel repose une amphore ; de part et d'autre de l'amphore, une étoile. Le tout entouré par un torque, L. Manlius Torquatus. Très rare et de qualité exceptionnelle pour le type malgré une rayure devant le portrait. Un portrait d'un style exquis frappé sur un flan en bon argent et très bien centré. Les représentations au droit et au revers montrent l'appartenance de L. Manlius Torquatus au collège des Quindecimviri sacris faciundis. De plus, la torque au revers rappelle son cognomen "Torquatus", clairement en lien avec l'objet. La datation de l'émission étant discutée entre 65 et 61 av.
