Elephant, right, trampling snake/dragon., Pontifical emblems - culullus, aspergillum, axe and apex., A very fine specimen of Caesar's elephant denarius. Although it is off-centre, as the flan is wide, the designs are not out of focus. A strike weakness is visible on the reverse, but it is not significant. The legs of the elephant and the body of the snake/dragon are very well preserved, although they are often much faded. With collector's ticket., CAESAR

L'éléphant, à droite, piétinant un serpent/dragon., Emblèmes pontificaux - culullus, aspergillum, hache et apex., Très bel exemplaire des deniers à l'éléphant de César. Bien qu'il soit décentré, le flan étant large, les motifs ne sont pas hors du champ. Une faiblesse de frappe est visible au revers mais elle est peu conséquente. On constate notamment une très bonne conservation des pattes de l'éléphant et du corps du serpent/dragon, qui sont souvent très effacés. Avec une étiquette de collectionneur., CAESAR
