Head of Zeus wearing oak wreath, right ; magistrate name to left., Athena Itonia advancing right, brandishing spear and shield ; palm branch on the right ; magistrates names above., This coin issued by the Thessalian League shows a small mark in front of the nose of Zeus on the obverse and the beginnings of an iridescent patina. The edge of the coin is slightly folded inwards at 1 o'clock. Despite the cleaning, this stater shows beautiful curls in both Zeus's hair and beard. The reverse is also in very good condition, with some elements of Athena's drapery still visible. The magistrate's name on the obverse is not entirely legible, leaving two possibilities as to his identity. It is either Italos or Italoy. On the reverse, the two magistrates are Diocles and Ni., ΙΤΑΛΟΣ or ΙΤΑΛΟΥ., ΔΙΟΚΛΗΣ / NI / ΘΕΣΣΑ / ΛΩΝ

Tête de Zeus portant une couronne de chêne, à droite ; nom du magistrat à gauche., Athéna Itonia marchant à droite et brandissant une lance et un bouclier ; palme à droite ; nom des magistrats au-dessus., Cette monnaie émise par la Ligue thessalienne présente une petite marque devant le nez de Zeus au droit ainsi qu'un début de patine iridescente. Le bord de la monnaie est légèrement replié vers l'intérieur à 1h. Malgré le nettoyage, ce statère présente de belles boucles, à la fois dans les cheveux et dans la barbe de Zeus. Le revers est également en très bon état et on peut notamment encore apercevoir quelques éléments du drapé d'Athéna. Le nom du magistrat inscrit au droit n'est pas entièrement lisible et laisse deux possibilités sur son identité. Il s'agit soit d'Italos, soit d'Italoy. Quant au revers, les deux magistrats sont Diocles et Ni., ΙΤΑΛΟΣ ou ΙΤΑΛΟΥ, ΔΙΟΚΛΗΣ / NI / ΘΕΣΣΑ / ΛΩΝ
