Maximinus I Thrax (AD 235–238).
Denarius (AR, 21 mm, 3.13 g) Rome mint, AD 236–237.
MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG GERM Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximinus I right, seen from behind / PROVIDENTIA AVG Providentia standing front, head left, holding wand over globe in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left hand.
RIC 20; Cohen 75; Alram 23–3.
Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die. Otherwise, lustrous extremely fine.
