An Elaborately Decorated Early Modern Silver Gilt Button
Circa 16th-17th century AD.
Hollow formed globular, ribbed button with engraved decoration and separately attached rosette-shaped terminal set with a blue glass stone; a strap loop for attachment. Two halves originally soldered together.
L 43 mm (total), Diameter 29 mm Ex private European collection, acquired on the German art market between 1998 and 2005.
