Description
A Roman Gold Hercules' Club Pendant
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
Hollow-modelled amulet pendant of conical shape. The wooden knobs of the club indicated by teardrop-shaped beaded gold wire; a strap loop for suspension to the top. The lower end set with a glass stone. Somewhat bent.
L 25 mm; Gold! 1.00 g Ex private European collection, acquired on the German art market between 1998 and 2005.
