An Egyptian Bronze Statuette of Osiris
Late Period, circa 664-30 BC.
Bronze statuette of the god Osiris in mummiform, wearing the atef crown. Above the forehead, an uraeus snake. In his hands crook and flail. Set on a low, trapezoid plinth with tenon. Two suspension loops. Green and red deposits. Loosely mounted on a modern stone base.
H 97 mm (with tenon) Ex collection H. S., Germany, died 2015.
