Two Byzantine Bronze Belt Buckles with Stylised Animals
Circa 9th-11th century AD.
Rectangular plates of belt buckles with highly stylised animals (a lion and a griffin?) striding to left; with attachment lugs.
L 29 mm, and L 37 mm Ex European private collection, acquired on the German art market before 2000.
