A GREEK BRONZE PHIALE WITH AN OMPHALOS
Circa 5th-4th century BC.
Cast bronze phiale (libation bowl) with a hollow, rounded, raised boss in the centre (omphalos). Heavy surface deposits and some corrosion. Surface treated with a layer of protective acrylic resin (Paraloid).
