TWO INSCRIBED ANCIENT BRONZE WEIGHTS
Circa 5th-7th century AD (for the solidus weight).
A Byzantine square solidus weight inscribed SOL over I flanked by two palm branches (one solidus of 4.33 g), and a large square ancient weight with the inlaid letters KΔ.
L 15 x 15 mm (4.33 g), and L 38 x 38 (83.40 g) Ex Austrian private collection, acquired in the 1980s-90s.
