A ROMAN BRONZE HORSE BROOCH
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
Plate brooch in the form of a grazing horse to left, set on a horizontal baseline. Worked in relief, the mane indicated with deep grooves, the eye with ring-and-dot. Hinged, pin ancient but not belonging; catch plate partly repaired.
L 37 mm Ex European private collection, acquired on the German art market in the late 1990s.
