TWO INSCRIBED BYZANTINE LEAD CROSS PENDANTS
Circa 9th-12th century AD.
The smaller cross with relief decoration on the obverse, the reverse features the inscription ΦωC - ΖωΗ (Light - Life), taken from the Gospel of St. John 8:12. The larger cross decorated with dots and rings, on the reverse possibly an illegible inscription on the horizontal bar (?). Both with suspension loop.
H 31 mm, and H 40 mm Ex European private collection, acquired on the German art market in the late 1990s.
