A ROMAN BRONZE STATUETTE OF PRIAPUS
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
The god of fertility is depicted wearing a modius and a long tunic, held up to contain a lapful of fruits. Unusually, no phallus is visible, and the god appears to be beardless. Some corrosion and damage to the patina.
