A FINE EARLY MEDIEVAL BRONZE PATRIX DIE
Circa 7th-9th century AD.
Solid patrix die with an elaborate ornamental design framed by a notched edge; probably employed for the manufacture of high-end belt mounts/strap-ends made of sheet metal (presumably gold or silver).
