AN ATTRACTIVE ROMAN BRONZE HEAD OF MARS
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
A well modelled, hollow cast bronze head of Mars, probably from a statuette or bust. The god with curly hair is wearing a high crested Corinthian helmet, decorated with incised tendrils on either side. Top of the head pierced.
