A ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF ASCLEPIUS
Circa 1st-2nd century AD.
The god is depicted with a narrow face and a full beard with curly locks, his long moustache downturned. He has full, slightly parted lips, almond-shaped eyes, and soft brows merging with the bridge of the nose. The long hair is parted in the centre and falling in waves to his shoulders. Minor deposits. Loosely set on an acrylic base.
