TWO ROMAN BRONZE DECORATED HORSE BIT CHEEKPIECES
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
A pair of highly decorative and unusual cheekpieces in the shape of double dolphins with horse-headed tails. With elaborate incised decoration. A round loop with iron remains of the mouthpiece joins the noses of the dolphins; a rectangular loop at the top.
