A LARGE ROMAN BRONZE APPLIQUE OF A YOUNG SATYR
Circa 1st-2nd century AD.
A fine applique in the form of a well-articulated satyr mask. His grimacing face with furrowed brow, deeply set eyes, and an open mouth. With prominent pointed ears, upswept locks of hair, and small horns at the top of the forehead. Wattles are indicated at the neck. Hollow back.
