Description

Divus Vespasian, died 79. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.19 g, 6 h), struck under Titus, Rome, 80-81. DIVVS AVGVSTVS VESPASIANVS• Laureate head of Vespasian to right. Rev. Foreparts of two capricorns back to back, supporting a round shield inscribed S C; below, globe. BMC 129. BN 101. Cohen 497. RIC² 357 ( Titus ). Well-centered, well-struck, and nicely toned. Good very fine.
