MYSIA. Kyzikos. Circa 550-450 BC. Stater (Electrum, 18 mm, 16.08 g). Griffin, raising right forepaw, seated to left on a tunny fish swimming to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Boston 1437 = Warren 1573. Greenwell 144. SNG France 239-240 var (griffin standing). Von Fritze I 101. A rare variety with the seated griffin. Very fine.
