PONTOS. Amisos. Time of Mithradates VI Eupator, circa 85-65 BC. (Bronze, 22 mm, 8.46 g, 1 h). Head of Amazon to right, wearing wolf's skin headdress. Rev. AMIΣOY Nike advancing to right, holding palm branch and wreath; star and crescent to left. HGC 7, 244. SNG Black Sea 1218. SNG Copenhagen 165. With a wonderful representation of the Amazon with a wolf's skin headdress; fine earthen highlights. Extremely fine.
