CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 302-290 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 8.01 g, 1 h), under Dai.. and Phi... Nude, helmeted warrior on horseback right, holding shield and two spears, thrusting spear downwards; below, ΔAI. Rev. TAPAΣ Taras riding dolphin left, holding shield decorated with hippocamp and trident; to left, ΦI; below, to right, murex shell. HN III 935. Fischer-Bossert Group 77, 1021 (V391/R787). Vlasto 594-596. Fine style. Reverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, good very fine.
