Description

SYRIA, Seleukis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. 78/7-17/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 15.09 g, 1 h), year ZK = 27 = 55/54 BC2. Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche to right. Rev. ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ ΤΗΣ ΙΕΡΑΣ ΚΑΙ ΑΥΤΟΝΟΜΟΥ Zeus Nikephoros seated to left; in inner field to left, ZK; below throne, monogram; in exergue, [monogram of KA]. DCA 558. HGC 9, 1398. Mørkholm, Autonomous 17. Bold, clear and lightly toned. About extremely fine.
