Description

CILICIA. Uncertain mint. Circa 2nd - 3rd quarter 4th century BC. Obol (Silver, 10.5 mm, 0.75 g, 10 h). Veiled and draped female bust facing, turned slightly to left, her hair adorned with jewels and bound at the top of her head, and wearing hoop earrings and a pearl necklace. Rev. Bareheaded and bearded head of Herakles to left, his lion's skin bound around his neck. Göktürk 40. SNG Levante 220. SNG Paris 480. Sunrise 105. An exceptionally sharp, toned and lovely example. Extremely fine.
