Description

CILICIA. Aigeai. Circa 47-29 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26.5 mm, 14.39 g, 12 h), year IZ (17) = 30/29. Turreted and veiled bust of the Tyche of Aigeai to right; fillet border. Rev. AIΓEAIΩN Athena standing to left, holding Nike in her right hand and resting her left on her spear and shield; to left, ΔI and club; below right, Δ; in exergue, IZ. Arnold-Biucci, Trésor 95-115 (D4/R14). DCA 355. Houghton & Bendall 6-7 (A3/P8). Prieur 711. RPC I 4027. SNG Levante 1655 ( same obverse die ). Bright and attractive. Minor pitting, otherwise, extremely fine.
