Great Britain. Anne, 1702-1707-1714. Medal (Silver, 42mm, 30.22 g 12), on the Battle of Oudenarde, with a tribute to Prince Eugene and the Duke of Marlborough, by P. H. Müller, Augsburg, 1708. Oudenarde, now in Belgium, was the scene of the major allied victories in the War of the Spanish Succession. French forces, under the divided command of Louis, Duke of Burgundy and the Duke of Vendôme, made a number of strategic mistakes and, thus, were heavily defeated by the combined forces of Great Britain, the Empire, the Netherlands, Prussia and their allies.
