AEOLIS. Elaea. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. (Bronze, 17.5 mm, 2.87 g, 12 h), P. Salonios. EΛAITΩN Laureate and draped bust of Augustus (?) to right. Rev. EΠI Π CAΛΩNIOY Basket containing poppy and grain ears. RPC Supplement I, S-2398A. SNG München 411 ( but dated to the 2nd century ). Rare and with very few known examples. Very fine.
