CILICIA. Hierapolis. 2nd-1st century BC. (Bronze, 24 mm, 7.23 g, 12 h). Turreted, veiled and draped bust of city-goddess to right. Rev. IEΡO -ΠOΛITΩN - TΩN ΠΡOΣ TΩI / ΠΥΡAMΩI The river-god Pyramos swimming to right, holding eagle in right hand. SNG Levante 1569. SNG Paris 2212-7. Attractive light green patina; struck from a skillfully engraved dies. Very fine.
