Solidus (Gold, 19.5 mm, 4.48 g, 6 h), Constantinople, I = 10th officina, 651-654. d N CONSTAN - TINVS PP AЧG Crowned and bearded bust of Constans II facing, holding globus cruciger with right hand. Rev. VICTORIA AVGЧ I Cross potent on base of three steps. DOC 19j. MIBE 23. SB 956. Sharply struck and beautiful. This solidus is a hair above the ideal 4.45 grams, so the unusual shape of the flan is a pre-strike weight adjustment, otherwise, extremely fine.
