MACEDON. Amphipolis. Commodus, 177-192. (Bronze, 23 mm, 9.77 g, 8 h). Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙ[Ο]C ΚΟΜΟΔΟC Bare-headed bust of Commodus to right, wearing cuirass and paludamentum. Rev. ΑΜΦΙ[ΠΟ]ΛΕΙΤΩΝ Turreted Tyche seated to left, holding patera with her extended right hand. RPC IV.1, 4241.2 (temporary; this coin ). Attractive brown-green patina. Extremely rare, only one other specimen (in Munich coin cabinet) known to RPC online, and this coin used to illustrate type. Very fine.
