Description

SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos VII Euergetes (Sidetes), 138-129 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.44 g, 12 h), Antioch on the Orontes. Diademed head of Antiochos VII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ / ΕΥΕΡ-ΓΕΤΟΥ Athena standing front, head to left, holding Nike in her right hand and spear and shield with her left; to outer left field, monogram above A; all within wreath. HGC 9, 1067d. SC 2061.2. Toned. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.

From a German collection assembled during the second half of the 20th century, acquired from from Hirsch in 1964.
