★ Extremely rare Cyrrhus issue of Alexander Balas ★

SELEUKID KINGS. Alexander I Balas, 152-145 BC. (Bronze, 16 mm, 3.77 g, 1 h), Cyrrhus, Dated ΔΞΡ (164) = 149-148 BC. Diademed head of Alexander Balas to right. Rev. ΚΥΡΡΗΣΤΩΝ Athena Nikephoros standing to left, holding spear in left hand and Nike in right; grounded shield propped up against her legs; in left field, ΔΞΡ and monogram. Babelon 907-908. SC 1810. SNG Spaer 1497. Extremely rare and none sold in recent years; green patina. Light encrustations, otherwise, very fine.
