Description

MYSIA. Kyzikos. Circa 550-500 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 11 mm, 2.59 g). Chimaera moving to left: with a lion's head and body, a goat's head and neck emerging from his back ( but looking to right ) and a serpent-headed tail; below, tunny fish to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. SNG Paris 201. Von Fritze 97. Very rare and attractive. Very fine.

From a German collection assembled during the second half of the 20th century, acquired from Giessener Münzhandlung in 1988.
