Description

THESSALY. Larissa. Circa 365-356 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 6.07 g, 12 h). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly to left, wearing ampyx, pendant earring and necklace. Rev. ΛΑΡΙΣ/ΑΙΩΝ Bridled horse crouching and preparing to roll to left; below, plant to which horse's rein is tied. BCD Thessaly II 288 (same dies). HGC 4, 452. Struck from well engraved dies of fine style; toned. Porous surfaces; lightly double struck, otherwise, good very fine.
