KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. (Bronze, 20 mm, 5.55 g, 3 h), uncertain mint in western Asia Minor, struck posthumously, circa 323-310. Head of Herakles with lion skin headdress to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ Bow in bowcase, club and race torch; c/m lion's head to right within circle. HGC 3, 951. Price 2800. Light earthen highlights. Some pitting and marks, otherwise, very fine.
