Description

CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 240-228 BC. Nomos (Silver, 20.5 mm, 6.48 g, 2 h), struck the magistrate Daimachos. Nude youth, holding torch in right hand and reins in left, on horse galloping to right; in left field, monogram; below horse, ΔAIMAXOC. Rev. TA-PAC Phalanthos, holding kantharos in outstretched right hand, trident in left, on dolphin to left; to right, monogram. HN III 1053. SNG Copenhagen 940 = Vlasto 939 (same dies). About extremely fine.
