CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 6.30 g, 5 h), Struck under the magistrates Zeneas, Eu... and Phi.... Horseman advancing to right, crowning his horse with a wreath held in his right hand, and holding the reins in his left; in left field, EΥ; in right field, Φ[Ι]; below horse, ΞΕΝ-ΕΑΣ. Rev. ΤΑΡΑΣ Phalanthos seated on dolphin to left, holding a rhyton in his right hand and a trident with his left; in right field, ear of grain on a stalk with leaf. HN III 1032. Vlasto 864 (same dies). Minor die shift on obverse, otherwise, very fine.
