Description

Valerian I, 253-260. Antoninianus (Billon, 25 mm, 3.00 g, 1 h), Cologne, 257-258. VALERIANVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Valerian to right. Rev. ORIENS AVGG Sol, radiate, walking to left, holding whip in left hand and raising right hand. MIR 36, 868h. RIC V 12 = RSC 143a variety (bust). Lightly toned. Some porosity; reverse struck from worn die, otherwise, about extremely fine.
