Caracalla, 198-217. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.83 g, 12 h), Rome, 216. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM Laureate and bearded head of Caracalla to right. Rev. P M TR P XVIIII COS IIII P P Sol standing facing, head turned to left, raising his right hand and holding globe in his left. BMC 172. RIC 281b. Cabinet toning. Minor marks and small areas of weak striking, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
