Description

THRACE. Abdera. Circa 411/0-386/5 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 16 mm, 2.59 g, 6 h), struck under the magistrate Echekrates. Griffin seated to left, raising right foreleg. Rev. ΕΧΕ-ΚΡ-ΑΤ-ΗΣ quadripartite square in center, the surfaces of which are granulated; all within incuse square. BMC 37. De Nanteuil 705 = May, ( Abdera ) 319 ( same reverse die ). SNG Copenhagen -. Rare; toned. About very fine.
