Description

SICILY. Akragas. Circa 420-410 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 17 mm, 1.99 g, 8 h). Eagle right, clutching dead hare in talons. Rev. AK-RA Crab; below, fish swimming to right. Dewing 567 ( same dies ). HGC 2, 105. SNG Cambridge 919 = SNG Manchester 372 ( same dies ). Westermark 573 (O15/R22). Old collection toning; well struck. Some porosity, otherwise, very fine.

From the Collection of Prof. James M. Collier, acquired from Mark Zilverberg in Amsterdam in 2009.
