NABATAEA. Malichus II, with Shaqilat, AD 40-70. Drachm (Silver, 13.5 mm, 3.92 g, 12 h), Petra, 45/6-64/5. 'Malichus, king of the Nabat[aeans, date]' (in Nabataean Aramaic) Laureate and draped bust of Malichus II to right. Rev. 'Shaqailat, [his sister,] queen of the Nabataeans' (in Nabataean Aramaic) Laureate, veiled, and draped bust of Shuqailat to right. Cf. Barkay 195a-211. Cf. Meshorer, Nabataea 129-139. Deeply toned. Date off flan. Minor roughness, otherwise, nearly very fine.
