Description

Nero, 54-68. Aureus (Gold, 19 mm, 6.48 g, 7 h), Rome, 65-66. NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Nero to right. Rev. SALVS Salus seated to left on a high-backed throne ornamented with discs, holding a patera in her outstretched right hand and resting her left elbow on the throne's armrest. BMC 87. Calicó 443. RIC 59. Lightly toned, well-centered and attractive. Minor marks, otherwise, good very fine.
