Description

GAUL. Massalia. Circa 150-125 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 2.61 g, 5 h), Light Standard. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis to right, wearing earring, pearl necklace, and with her bow and quiver over her shoulder; in field to right, Ζ/Ε. Rev. MAΣΣA / ΛIHTΩN Lion prowling to right; in field to right, Ζ/Ε. BN 1024-1030- F/Py DRM 38-8. Nicely centered, toned and clear. Minor marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

From the Montecristo Collection, acquired from Leu Numismatics in Zürich in 1997.
