Description

GAUL. Massalia. Circa 210-190 BC. Large Bronze (Bronze, 25 mm, 11.41 g, 7 h), Light Series - 10 g, with symbol on the obverse and reverse. Laureate head of Apollo to left; behind head, [kantharos]. Rev. ΜΑΣΣΑΛΙΗΤ[ΩΝ] Bull butting to right; above, kantharos. BN 1511-1513. F/Py GBM 15-3. Rare. Clearly struck and well-centered. Flan faults, otherwise, good very fine.
