Description
GAUL. Massalia. Circa 500-470 BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 8 mm, 0.59 g), Auriol Type. Calf's head to right, with pellet ornament on the top of his neck and with a beaded truncation. Rev. Irregular quadripartite incuse square. Brenot 24-25. F/Py OBA-S. Furtwängler S 27. Maurel 52. Clearly struck and nicely toned. Minor traces of die rust on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
